Meet the Dentists

  • Dr. Kelly Blundell obtained his dental degree at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Blundell’s most rewarding part of dental school was caring for children, so he continued his education by completing pediatric dental specialization at the University of Illinois in Chicago.

He was born and raised in the Lower Mainland. After completing his dental education, he moved to beautiful Victoria in 2004. He and his wife have raised their four children in Victoria. He enjoys mountain biking and hiking with his family.

He strives to provide caring and compassionate dental care for each child he has the privilege to care for. Each day he is grateful for and humbled by the trust families place in him to care for their children in his dental practice.

After nearly 20 years in practice in pediatrics, Dr. Blundell is looking forward to retirement at the end of September 2025 to spend more time with family exploring the outdoors on his bike, or while camping. He will be missed dearly!

  • Dr. Marie-Josée Higgins is originally from Quebec where she obtained her dental degree from McGill University in 1993. She then completed a multidisciplinary residency program at the Montreal Children’s Hospital where her passion of working with children was fostered and affirmed and led her to pursue a Master’s of Science and a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. After graduating, Dr. Higgins practiced at Montreal Children’s Hospital and then at Alberta Children’s Hospital for six years before returning to Montreal to work in private practice.

In 2015, Marie and her partner Christopher decided it was time for a change of pace and scenery. They made the big move to Victoria where she became an associate at PDA.

During her time off, Marie enjoys gardening, taking care of their cat Harry (Houdini), walking in the numerous beautiful parks, travelling, and reading.

  • Dr. Bryan Wong, born and raised in Vancouver, BC, was inspired to become a dentist on a “Take Our Kids to Work” day with his uncle, Dr. John Lee, a well-respected dentist in the Lower Mainland. Dr. Wong obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the UBC before practicing as a general dentist in the Comox Valley. It was during these years that he developed a keen interest in providing dental care to children, ultimately steering him in the direction of a career in pediatric dentistry.

He was accepted into the pediatric dentistry specialty program at UBC and BC Children’s Hospital where he obtained his Master of Science and Diploma in Pediatric Dentistry. During his studies, he was recognized for his outstanding clinical instruction with an Undergraduate Teaching Award, and for his multiple publications including in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s (AAPD) Journal of Pediatric Dentistry.

He is committed to providing quality dental care, while foremost valuing a child’s overall well-being and best interests.

His love for nature and the outdoors has brought him, his wife, and their cat (Alfie), back to Vancouver Island permanently. During his time off, he is prepping his twin girls to share his passion for fly fishing, skiing, and squash.

  • Dr. Dyar Bikey was raised in the small town of Nipawin, Saskatchewan. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Saskatchewan and began his career practicing general dentistry in St. John’s, Newfoundland. It was during his time in Newfoundland that Dr. Bikey developed a strong interest in addressing barriers to dental care access. His involvement in local community dental initiatives and participation in an outreach trip to Haiti deepened this commitment.

Motivated to make a broader impact, Dr. Bikey pursued a General Practice Residency at Vancouver General Hospital through UBC. During this program, a two-month rotation at BC Children’s Hospital deepened his passion for pediatric dentistry, particularly in caring for patients with complex medical needs. This experience led him to enroll in the UBC Pediatric Dentistry program, where he earned both a Master of Science and a Diploma in Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Bikey's academic research focused on dental care for individuals with autism, underscoring his dedication to providing compassionate, specialized care to diverse and underserved populations. He remains deeply committed to reducing barriers to dental care, especially for children.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Bikey enjoys an active lifestyle that includes surfing, biking, canoeing, chess, and snowboarding. He also values time spent with his life partner, Sarah, their beloved dog Zooka, and his family on the South Island. Dr. Bikey is excited to become more involved in the Greater Victoria community and is dedicated to promoting the oral health and well-being of children in the region.
